Barry Payne is an Executive Head Teacher in Norfolk of a school that caters for a wide range of learning difficulties and other associated problems.
The school has opened a City Centre Café in Norwich which is run by students, ex-students and parents. It is a training centre for SEN students as well as a support centre for ex-students who need guidance and advice. It has just won a National Education Business Award for SEN Provision.
Barry is also Chair of the National Federation of Leaders in Special Education (FLSE) and has worked with the DfE and Ofsted in a consultative capacity.
He has led a team of professionals to secure a successful bid for a Specialist Free School in Norfolk for Autistic children aged 4-19 years. The school opens in September 2017.
In Norfolk, Barry is a System Leader and Challenge Partner supporting schools throughout the County and is now training System Leaders as part of the Authorities improvement strategy.
